Kidde Bringing "Cause For Alarm" Home Safety Campaign To Bucks

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Kidde will bring its "Cause For Alarm" home safety campaign to Bucks County on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology, located at 2740 York Rd. in Jamison.

The announcement was made by State Senator Frank Farry, who represents the sixth senatorial district in Bucks County.

“I am grateful to Kidde for bringing this important initiative to my district and to help educate our community about fire safety,” said State Senator Frank Farry. “As a fire chief and volunteer firefighter, I know firsthand how many households are not adequately prepared for a fire. Having working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and a family emergency plan can help save lives.”

Kidde's Cause for Alarm campaign combines fire and carbon monoxide (CO) safety education, smoke and CO alarm donations, and community collaboration as it focuses on helping families prioritize fire safety.

“Fire and carbon monoxide emergencies can happen in any home, and that's why education and preparedness are at the core of Kidde's Cause for Alarm initiative," said Ivanette Bonilla, chief communication and government relations officer with Kidde. "We're grateful to Sen. Farry and the Warwick Fire Department for joining us, and we look forward to a fun, family-friendly day of safety education with the Middle Bucks community as we continue helping to make every home a safer home."

Attendees will have the opportunity to refresh their fire and carbon monoxide safety knowledge, while enjoying a variety of family-friendly activities. Farry and State Rep. Kristin Marcell (R-178) will join members of the Warwick Fire Department at the event.

Free smoke and CO alarms will be available to community members who need them. Children can also enjoy activities including a visit with Peppa Pig, a snow cone truck, and more.

“We hope families throughout the community will join us for this fun, educational event and take important steps to help keep their homes and loved ones safe,” said Farry.

There is a limit of one set of alarms per household. A signed Safety Pledge is required to take one home.
