NEWTOWN, PA —The Council Rock North Marching Band has met and exceeded a fundraising challenge put forth by the Gene and Marlene Epstein Humanitarian Foundation.

The Foundation had promised to match donations made in the month of October up to $1,000. The band raised $5,827 in October, spurred by donations after the challenge was announced.

This was accomplished by a coordinated effort from many parent volunteers and students. It was also amid the busiest time of year for the 55-member band, which included performing at every CR North football game, the Halloween parade, and several marching band competitions.

"The Council Rock North Band Parents Association was surprised and excited by the matching challenge,” said George Stockburger V, president of the association. “When news of the challenge reached the public, we received donations that we otherwise would not have gotten without the generous offer from Mr. and Mrs. Epstein. Their support of our fundraising efforts through the matching challenge was a boost to our resolve to meet that goal. I am pleased to say that we far exceeded that goal."

The CRBPA is a nonprofit 501c3. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. To make a donation, visit crnband.org/store and click either "donate" button.
