“It is a huge honor to represent our community on the national stage,” said Music Director Steven B. Sweetsir. “With just a week to go, we are working hard to put the final touches on our performance to make this a truly spectacular concert.”

Adding to the excitement, the journey to this milestone is being captured on film. A documentary produced by Nando Photography is following the ensemble’s behind-the-scenes preparation—rehearsals, logistics, and the personal stories of the musicians—as they prepare for what promises to be a career-defining performance. On April 17, both the band and the film crew will travel to Baltimore for the culmination of this remarkable story.

The Association of Concert Bands convention is a premier national event, featuring educational clinics and performances by some of the finest concert bands in the country. For the Delaware Valley Wind Symphony, the invitation affirms nearly two decades of artistic excellence and community engagement.

Founded in 2008 under the direction of founding conductor Jerry Nowak, the ensemble has become a cultural cornerstone in Bucks County, known for delivering inspiring, high-quality performances. Beyond the concert stage, the organization remains deeply committed to music education—awarding the annual Jerry Nowak Memorial Scholarship to graduating high school seniors and partnering with local educators to support school music programs.

The excitement won’t end in Baltimore. The Delaware Valley Wind Symphony will conclude its season with a festive and patriotic concert titled “Happy Birthday America” on May 3 at 4:00 PM at Holland Middle School. The program will celebrate the nation’s history through stirring and spectacular music.

Tickets are $15 for adults, while students and children are admitted free. The venue offers ample parking and is handicap accessible.

As the Delaware Valley Wind Symphony prepares to take its place on the national stage, the community is invited to share in both the pride of this achievement and the joy of live music.

Come celebrate—and be part of the journey.
