Always a jokester, you knew you were cemented in his good graces when he made you the target of a joke or prank. He could often be found at Philadelphia sports games, standing by the ocean in Margate, skiing the Rocky Mountains, or scuba diving any body of water in the world with sharks of ship wrecks.
A constant throughout his life was his great appreciation for food; he was always thrilled to celebrate any occasion with a good steak and a black and white cookie. What Don cherished most about all of these activities was sharing the fun with his friends and family.
He was a warm, generous, and meticulous man, who loved children and was quick to entertain them with his Donald Duck voice. He is perhaps best known in his social circles for being the ‘Gooseboss’ as he founded and led GOOSE - an obstreperous annual ski trip which began over 25 years ago, later expanding to an annual scuba trip, and included more than 150 ‘guys’ and thousands of hats and t-shirts.
Don leaves behind his wife, Patricia; his daughters, Lindsay and Courtney; his son-in-law, Seth Horwitz; as well as many, many friends and extended family. He will be greatly missed by all.
Contributions in his name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
