Donald Trump's NAC Rally Cost Township $19K In Police Overtime, Officials Say
The township will not attempt to recoup the more than $19K spent on police overtime for a Donald Trump rally in October.

Newtown Township shelled out more than $19,000 in police overtime to staff a rally for Donald Trump at the Newtown Athletic Club in October. Officials say they will not attempt to recoup the costs of the president-elect's rally, as well as the approximately $5,000 spent to staff a local event for the Democratic ticket in October.
Township supervisor Jen Dix confirms the hefty price tag for police overtime was upwards of $19,000 for the Republican's Oct. 21 event.
During a Wednesday meeting of the supervisors, Dix suggested the township attempt to recoup the funds but the supervisors ultimately decided it would be a fruitless effort. The township manager says he has no place to send the bills, the Advance reports.
