Election Results: How Did Newtown Borough and Township Vote?

Both the township and borough voted heavily in favor of Clinton and nearly went totally blue.

Newtown Borough and Newtown Township's election results are in, so let's see where the number are as the dust settles after an intense election cycle.

According to the Bucks County election results website, Newtown Borough and Newtown Township both favored Democrat Hillary Clinton over Republican Donald Trump in the presidential race.

Borough residents voted for Clinton 59.5 percent to Trump's 36.9 percent, while township residents went for Clinton 53.6 percent to Trump's 43.1 percent.

The borough and township split on the Senate race, with the borough voting in favor of Democrat Katie McGinty while the township went for incumbent Republican Pat Toomey.

Both the borough and township selected Democrat Josh Shapiro over Republican John Rafferty in the Attorney General Race.

While Bucks County voted in favor of Republican Brian Fitzpatrick over Democrat Steve Santarsiero in the race for the open 8th Congressional District seat, Newtown borough and township residents voted more for Santarsiero than for Fitzpatrick.

Democrat Eugene DePasquale won in both municipalities, though the township have him 48.1 percent and his opponent Republican John Brown got 48 percent of the vote.

Joe Torsella, the Democrat running for State Treasurer, beat opponent Republican Otto Voit in both the township and the borough.

Lastly, the township voted for one of their own in the state representative race, choosing Republican Ryan Gallagher over Democrat Perry Warren to fill Santarsiero's vacant seat representing the 31st Pennsylvania House District.
