More Than 60 Brews On Tap At 13th Annual Newtown Beerfest

Billed as the town's premiere beer festival, the event will include beer tastings, live music, great food and lots of fun.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The Newtown Fire Association turns on the taps for its annual
Newtown Beerfest on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 12 to 5:30 p.m. at the Stocking Works, 410 South State Street, Newtown.

Billed as the town's premiere beer festival, the event will include beer tasting (more than 60 different breweries represented), live music, food and fun, all for the benefit of the Newtown Fire Association.

Entertainment at this year’s event will be by Bucks County’s own Barefoot Bobby and the Breakers, performing classic rock, country, trop rock, Blues and Motown hits; and The Kickbax Trio, a regular at the Sycamore Grill playing dance and rock favorites from yesterday and today.

Food will be sold at the Beerfest by Newtown’s own The Clubhouse on South State Street, La Stalla Restaurant on Swamp Road and The Temperance House on South State Street.

The Beerfest is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Newtown Fire and Emergency Services. It uses the funds to purchase fire equipment and apparatus for the station.

“It’s a great reason to come out and support the fire association and have a good time,” said association president Warren Dallas. “The variety of beer is going to be outstanding, the food is great and we will have two bands playing. We’re also having a corn hole tournament. There’s a lot
going on. So come out, have a great time and support the local firefighters.”

Tickets are $75 First Tap (12:30 to 2 p.m.), $45 General Admission (2 to 5:30 p.m. and $10 Designated Driver. For tickets and information, visit NewtownBeerFest.com. The event will be held rain or shine.

Tickets are required for all attendees. If it rains, tents will be provided. No one under 21 will be admitted. Everyone must have valid ID. No children, no babies, no pets, no chairs and no firearms. Taps are turned off at 5:15 p.m.
