Gap Body In Newtown Closing, To Reopen As Athleta

Gap Body In Newtown will close this month, and reopen this fall as Athleta.

The store, located on State Street in Newtown Borough, carries various undergarments, pajamas and casual wear. Athleta, also owned by Gap, specializes in sporting wear, including yoga, running and hiking wear.

The switch is one of many changes happening in the upcoming weeks along State Street.

A business across the street from the Gap Body, the Black Horse Tavern, is also changing names. It will soon be under new ownership and be called Thyme Bar and Grill.

Other upcoming changes along State Street include the Salt Cave opening in September, and a new rolled ice cream spot. Click here for details.
