Landscaping Tools Stolen From Newtown Cemetery: Police
A man carrying equipment was seen running from the cemetery maintenance building towards Elm Avenue, police said.

Newtown Township Police are investigating two recent thefts.
According to police, the first one was reported on May 14 at Brillman’s Rental Barn on Friends Lane. Police said 15 small trees that had originally been planted in some bedding along Friends Lane were reported stolen. The items were taken sometime in March and April, police said.
The trees were worth approximately $1,125, an estimate from police said.

Then, on the morning of May 15, police were dispatched to the Newtown Cemetery for a report of theft of tools. Two men working on landscaping in the cemetery told police that they saw a thin white male go into the maintenance building.
He was then seen carrying equipment while running towards Elm Avenue, police said. The man got into a vehicle and sped away.

The situation remains under investigation, police said.
