Man Hurt In Hang Glider Crash At Newtown Middle School
According to police, a man was operating a paramotor glider when it fell 25 to 35 feet to the ground.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A Feasterville man was hurt Monday evening when the motorized hang glider he was operating crashed in front of the Newtown Middle School.
At 8:42 p.m., Newtown Township Police were dispatched to the school on Newtown-Richboro Road for a report of a "small airplane crash." Bucks County Police Radio reported that a man had crashed his motorized hang glider and was located in front of the school.
When emergency responders arrived, police located the man in the parking lot near the baseball fields toward the front of the school.

According to police, the man was operating a paramotor when it fell 25 to 35 feet to the ground. Police said the 55-year-old man from Feasterville was conscious and walking around, indicating that he had injured his neck and back as a result of the fall.
The Newtown Ambulance Squad transported the man to St. Mary Medical Center for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.

Newtown Fire and Rescue was also called to the scene but the first arriving chief reported that fire services were not needed, according to Newtown Fire Chief Glenn Forsyth.
Thunderstorms were in the area at the time of the crash. It wasn't immediately known if the bad weather had played a role in the incident.
