Man Pulls Out 'Large Knife' In Bypass Road Rage Incident: Police

The driver who allegedly pulled out the knife has been identified and Newtown Township police are investigating.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — An incident in which a driver pulled out a "large knife" during a fit of road rage last week on the Newtown Bypass is under investigation by police in Newtown Township.

According to police, the incident occurred on Sept. 5 around 5:15 p.m on the Bypass near Richboro Road.

A couple who was driving with their child told police they were heading northbound on the Bypass and had been attempting to switch lanes. As they attempted to get over, they saw a silver Subaru in the other lane close by so they sped up to get over, the couple told police.

The Subaru then switched lanes, coming alongside the victims’ vehicle, the couple said. The man driving the Subaru allegedly threw an unknown object at the victim’s car, and then displayed a large knife, according to information provided to police.

The victims were able to get a picture of the Subaru before it drove away. They provided a detailed description of the driver. Police were able to identify the vehicle and the male driver and are investigating the incident.
