Man Wanted By Newtown PD On Drug Charges Located In New Mexico
Newtown Twp Police had been seeking Blackmon after he was allegedly found with 40 pounds of marijuana hidden in wrapped Christmas presents.

A man wanted after a December traffic stop in Newtown Township allegedly yielded 40 pounds of marijuana has been located in New Mexico and was arraigned in Bucks County over the weekend, police announced.
Elihu Blackmon III, 28, arrived in Bucks County on Aug. 4 and was processed at Northampton Township Police Department. He was arraigned and bail was set at $150,000. He was transported Bucks County Prison and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 20.
He is charged with possession of drugs with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, and related charges.

Newtown Township Police had been seeking Blackmon after he was allegedly found with 40 pounds of marijuana hidden in wrapped Christmas presents during a traffic stop in the area of Providence Court and Twining Bridge Road on Dec. 22.
Blackmon, of Albuquerque, NM, and Christian Abell, 22, of San Diego, CA, were in a Hertz Rental van. While speaking with the pair, police said they smelled a "strong odor" of marijuana from inside of the van.

Upon further investigation, a small amount of suspected marijuana and more than $19,000 in cash was discovered, police said. Officers impounded the vehicle and got a search warrant. After the search warrant was obtained, police recovered 30 to 40 pounds of marijuana, more than 700 THC (marijuana) vaporizers and more than $80,000 in cash inside the van.
The items recovered were located inside of numerous wrapped Christmas presents and pieces of luggage, police said.
Abell was previously arraigned on the charges. A felony arrest warrant was issued for Blackmon.
