Man Who Deposited Fake Checks Apprehended: Newtown Twp PD
A man wanted for depositing fictitious checks and taking money from a Newtown Township resident has been apprehended, police said.

NEWTOWN, PA — A man wanted for depositing fictitious checks and taking money from a Newtown Township resident has been apprehended, police said.
On Nov. 28, Newtown Township Police issued a felony arrest warrant for Shaakir D. McAdams, 25, of Philadelphia for forgery, theft by unlawful taking, and related charges.
According to police, McAdams deposited fictitious checks into a third-party account and then withdrew the money, which belonged to a victim in Newtown Township. The deposits and withdrawals were made in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

McAdams turned himself into police on Dec. 3 and was arraigned. He posted bail, which was set at $25,000 unsecured, and is awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for Dec. 17, court records show.
