It is with a high degree of enthusiasm, after being appointed as the next Superintendent of Schools for the Council Rock School District, that I make my first of many connections with you. The Council Rock community is steeped in a rich tradition of excellence in a multitude of ways, and I am honored and humbled to accept this appointment beginning on July 1, 2015.
I believe strongly that schools can maximize the potential of their students only when all stakeholders work in concert as partners in education. To that end, I look forward during this important time of transition to establishing strong working relationships with members of this community. Doing so will serve as a foundation for our future work together, as our children’s success will depend on the level of teamwork that together – as educators, parents, business leaders, and interested community members – we are able to build and sustain. This community has a wealth of resources that can and should be used to partner with and sustain our excellent schools. I eagerly anticipate all of us working together with one heartbeat to always, and without fail, make the best decisions and seek the best outcomes for the children of our community.
The excellence of Council Rock schools is well known by many in the region, and certainly by me. Please know that I have tremendous appreciation and respect for the legacy of outstanding contributions made by so many over the course of time. I am well aware, for instance, that Mr. Mark Klein will be leaving enormously large shoes to be filled. I humbly look forward to working my hardest to do so, as my respect for him is at the highest possible level. I also want to express my respect for the Board of School Directors, who led a search process that was exhaustive in every sense possible, and particularly the leadership throughout the process of Mr. Andy Block, Board President.
Council Rock is an outstanding community of learners, and its points of pride transcend academics, service learning, the arts, athletics, and numerous other endeavors. You can and should expect performance in all these areas to continuously improve. All the while, you should also expect to be met at every turn by a caring and engaged group of teachers, staff, and administrators who are ready to partner and assist however we can. I look forward to formally beginning our journey together on July 1, 2015.
Best regards,
Robert Fraser, Ed.D
