NEWTOWN, PA — A steakhouse is seeking approval for a liquor license transfer so they can open a restaurant in Newtown.

Steak Bar by Shula's is seeking to transfer the liquor license so it can open in the Village at Newtown, according to Township Manager Micah Lewis. The license will be transferred from the Bertucci's in Warrington that is now closed.

The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors is scheduled to review an application for the transfer Wednesday.

If approved, Steak Bar by Shula's will still need conditional use approval, Lewis said. No application has been submitted yet.

It is not clear where in the shopping center the steakhouse will be located. Patch has reached out to the restaurant chain, which operates locations in Florida, Arizona, Ohio, Texas and more.
