New Wine Bar Gets Liquor License Transfer Approval

Good news for Newtown wine lovers and health food fans.

The Newtown Township Supervisors on Wednesday approved a liquor license transfer for a farm-to-table wine bar planning to open at the Village at Newtown Shopping Center.

Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar will join the shopping center this fall, representatives have told Patch. The Newtown Township shopping center is planning a renovation and expansion and Harvest is part of the new vision.

The 6,425 square-foot restaurant and bar, which also received conditional use approval Wednesday from the supervisors, will open where Margiotti and Kroll Pediatrics formerly operated.

According to its website, Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar offers an under 500-calorie, seasonally changing, local farm-to-table menu, plus more than 50 wines by the glass, seasonal cocktails and local beer.

"Every three months Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar changes the menu to reflect the change of the seasons. Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar works with 75 local farmers to source the freshest and highest quality products available," its website says.

Menu items include flatbreads, appetizers, vegetarian dishes, seafood, salads, sandwiches and more.

The restaurant says it prides itself on a sustainable and organic approach. That includes its ingredients, cleaning products, paper products and even recycled glass bar tops. "We are a truly a green concept," the restaurant says on its website.
