Newtown Arbor Day Postponed Until Monday Due To Forecast

Arbor Day in Newtown Borough will now be held Monday, April 30, organizers tell Patch. It is supposed to rain Friday.

Newtown Borough has postponed its annual Arbor Day celebration from this Friday until Monday, April 30 due to the forecast calling for rain.

The event will be held starting at 10 a.m. Monday at Officer Brian S. Gregg Memorial Park. The family-friendly event includes music by ECO Man, tree planting, environmental educational stations, nature crafts, and yoga. Students from Goodnoe Elementary School, local preschools, and community members are invited to attend. It typically goes until about noon, organizers say.

Additionally, you can see the Arbor Day posters created by Goodnoe Elementary 1st and 5th grade students.
Students were encouraged to design a poster illustrating the importance of trees in our world and what Arbor Day means to them.
