In a masterful stage adaptation of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning book which opens October 19, Newtown Arts Company presents To Kill A Mockingbird, a classic story of standing up to racial injustice for one week only, October 19 to 25 at Newtown Theatre, 120 N. State Street, Newtown, PA 18940,.

The play unfolds through the eyes of Scout Finch, a young girl in a quiet southern town who is about to experience dramatic events that will affect the rest of her life. Her lawyer father, Atticus, is defending Tom Robinson (Malik Khaaliq-Abdul)), a young black man wrongfully accused of a crime, bringing recriminations from townspeople. When Scout asks why he's doing something that is causing so much turmoil, Atticus replies, "Because if I didn't, I couldn't hold my head up."
