Newtown Halloween Parade Kicks Off Saturday Morning

Motorists asked to use caution during the parade time.

The Newtown Halloween Parade is all set for Saturday morning, and those participating should be at

Stocking Works parking lot on South State Street between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for parade registration.

Costume judging also begins at 9 a.m. in the Stocking Works lot, ending at 9:50 a.m.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and head north on South State Street up to the firehouse.

This year's event features 10 different costume categories including Halloween Horror and Halloween Humor, Pampered Pets, Group Theme, and Youngest Dressed, so get your costumes ready.

Winners will be awarded prizes after the parade at the Newtown Theatre.

In the event of inclement weather, registration, judging, and prize awards will be held in the theater. The parade itself will go on rain or shine.

Newtown Borough Police are advising motorists to use caution during the parade. Police are also reminding parents to be fully aware of surrounding while their kids are out in the parade.
