Newtown Presbyterian To Present Special Good Friday Cantata
The noon service will feature a performance of Théodore Dubois' cantata, "The Seven Last Words of Christ."

NEWTOWN, PA — Newtown Presbyterian Church will present a special Good Friday cantata, "The Seven Last Words of Christ," on Friday, April 3, beginning at noon. The church is located at 25 North Chancellor Street.
The featured work was composed by 19th-century French Romantic composer and organist Théodore Dubois. Drawing from different Gospel accounts, the piece shares the last words spoken by Christ during the crucifixion.
The cantata will feature Pamela Lynde, Tyler Brown, and James Moyer as guest soloists and a choir made up of Newtown Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir members and friends, who will represent the crowd gathered at the cross.
