Police in Newtown Township reported the following recent incidents.

The following recent incidents were reported by Newtown Township Police:

September 14

  • Around 12:45 a.m., an officer observed the driver of a 2015 Land Rover drifting over the right fog line a few times and traveling west on the Newtown Bypass. The officer then initiated a traffic stop on Durham Road and Ice Cream Alley and made contact with the driver. The driver indicated that she was tired and on her way home from work. There were no signs of intoxication, and the officer issued a verbal warning.
  • While on patrol around 11:30 p.m., an officer observed a male subject who appeared to be laying in the grass and sleeping. The officer made contact with the subject and determined that he was extremely intoxicated and unable to get himself home. The officer provided the subject with a courtesy transport and issued a citation for public drunkenness.

  • At approximately 9 a.m., a Newtown Township resident reported that when they went to get their paper that morning, they discovered that their aluminum garage door had been damaged. There was a note from an unidentified neighbor that stated they had witnessed a car back into it and included the vehicle’s information.

September 17

  • Just after 5 p.m., a Bucks County Community College student reported that her car, which had been parked in a designated parking space at the college, had been hit by an unknown operator while she was in class. There was minor damage in the area of her passenger side rear fender and black paint transfer. At this time there are no witnesses or evidence to indicate who is responsible for the damage to the complainant’s vehicle.

  • Shortly before 5 p.m., a Newtown Township resident reported that their iPhone 7 was stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Police were dispatched to the area of the Pineville Tavern at approximately 5:30 p.m. after a passing motorist called to report that a woman was walking on the side of the roadway and that she looked intoxicated. Upon arrival, police made contact with the woman and identified her as Amanda Tomlinson, 36, of Wrightstown. Tomlinson was arrested due to an active warrant out of Philadelphia and transferred over to the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Department.

September 20

  • A Bucks County Community College student contacted police around 11:30 a.m. to report an incident of criminal mischief. According to the student, her vehicle was egged in the student parking lot while she was in class that morning.
  • A Wrightstown Township resident responded to headquarters around 1:30 p.m. to report that she was the victim of fraud. The complainant explained that three years ago her father’s ex-girlfriend used her social security number to open several accounts. The total amount due on these accounts is over $2,000. Police advised the complainant to contact the Social Security Administration and credit bureaus to put a freeze on the accounts and to prevent others from being opened in her name.
  • At approximately 3:30 p.m., police met with a Linton Hill Road resident for a criminal mischief report. According to the resident, someone damaged his mailbox and its post. Police observed and documented the damage.
  • Around 6:45 p.m., a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report a suspicious vehicle. The complainant reported that a white male in a dark colored car with tinted windows has been parking out in front of her residence for several weeks and that today the operator rolled down his window and gave a mean look to the complainant’s young daughter. The suspicious vehicle was no longer on scene, and police advised the complainant to call if the vehicle returned. Patrol monitored the area throughout the night.
