Newtown Tree Lighting, Santa House Dates For 2018

NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown business community is gearing up for the holidays, and have shared some important dates you'll want to pencil into your calendar.

First up is the tree lighting, to be held Friday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Newtown Fire Department on Washington Avenue.

Midnight Madness is Friday, December 7. Participating stores will be open from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Then, on Dec. 8, the Santa House will open in front of 16 S State Street.

Santa House hours for 2018 are as follows:

• Saturday, Dec. 8, 1-3PM
• Sunday, Dec. 9, 1-3 PM
• Saturday, Dec. 15, 1-3 PM
• Sunday, Dec. 16, 1-3 PM
• Saturday, Dec. 22, 1-3 PM

Starting Nov. 30, there will be a mailbox at the Santa House where children can drop off letters to Santa.

Through Dec. 27, many borough businesses will offer "Open Late Thursdays." Participating stores will be open until 8 pm every Thursday.
