Newtown Twp Has Finalist In Police Chief Search

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Newtown Township has a candidate in mind for its next police chief, but his or her name has not yet been made public.

On Wednesday, the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors is expected to consider an employment contract for the position of police chief. Supervisors Chairman Phil Calabro said the identity of the candidate cannot be revealed for legal reasons so as not to jeopardize a current employment situation.

Former Newtown Township Police Department Chief Rick Pasqualini retired in July. At the time of his retirement, township officials praised Pasqualini, calling him a "first-class chief."
