Newtown Twp Police Chief Moves Up Retirement Date
Last week, the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors approved the retirement date for Chief Pasqualini to be moved up to July 1.

Newtown Township's police chief, originally set to retire at the end of the year, has moved up his retirement date. Last week, the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors approved the retirement date for Henry "Rick" Pasqualini to be moved up to July 1.
Earlier in the year, the board had approved his retirement effective January 1, 2019. However, after the timeframe changed, the board unanimously approved the new date.
A search for a police chief search is underway, with the deadline to apply approaching on Monday, July 2.

The township has set a goal to select a new chief by Sept. 30, with a target start date ranging between Nov. 1 to Jan. 1, said Township Manager Kurt Ferguson at a June 27 meeting.
Township officials praised Pasqualini, calling him a "first-class chief."

"He always looks out to do what's best for the residents," Ferguson said, noting he "really has transformed the department."
Ferguson is also leaving the township this month for a job as township manager in Lower Makefield.
