Newtown United Methodist Church Prepares Meals for Homebound

Help Homebound Neighbors by Preparing Nutritious Meals

The Newtown United Methodist Church, located on the corner of Liberty and Greene Streets in Newtown, PA, will be preparing meals on September 19 to be delivered to over 500 people in the Philadelphia area.

According Doris Mershon, an organizer for the Aid for Friends group sponsored by the church, “This is an opportunity for all of us to help ensure that people who do not have the ability to shop for and prepare nutritious meals are provided for.”

Aid for Friends meets on Wednesday, September 19 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and any one interested in helping is welcome.

The United Methodist Church has a long history of lay involvement and lay leadership. The Newtown United Methodist Church was founded in 1840. The current church was built in 1895.
