Newtown Yard Sale May 7 Benefits Alex's Lemonade Stand

NEWTOWN, PA — You can support the fight against childhood cancer and maybe find some new treasures at the second annual Community Yard Sale in Newtown this May.

The event, which is sponsored by Keller Williams Real Estate Newtown, is Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. It will be at 12 Terry Drive, next to the Newtown Post Office in the Keller Williams Newtown parking lot.

The cost to have a table is $30, all of which is donated to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Seller sign-ups are not open at this time, and tables must be reserved in advance.

Sellers may keep any profit they make at the sale, Keller Williams said.

There will be raffle baskets, crafts for kids, snacks, and (of course) a lemonade stand.

Good Stuff Thrift will haul away any items still left after the sale.

In case of bad weather, the rain date is May 14.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer is headquartered in Wynnewood. Its namesake and founder, Alexandra "Alex" Scott, began the holding yearly lemonade stand fundraisers for childhood cancer while she was going through treatment herself. Alex died in August 2004 at age 8.
