McCafferty's mother, Carol Beahan, opened The Pro Shop for the finest tennis apparel and gear in 1990. McCafferty took over the business in 2010 and now sells boutique fitness wear, according to the shop website.

McCafferty said the Newtown Athletic Club Have a Heart Foundation donated money to The Pro Shop for rebuilding.
