Noah's Playground Nearing Debut In Newtown

Noah's Playground, to be constructed at Veteran's Park, is in memory of a local baby who died in 2010 from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

The family who has been raising money for a new playground in Newtown will come before the township supervisors this week to present a check to support the project.

The Cohen family, who have been working for several years to bring Noah’s Playground to Newtown Township, will present the township with the money they raised through The Philadelphia Foundation during a meeting Wednesday.

Noah’s Playground, to be constructed at Veteran’s Park, is in memory of the Cohen’s son who died in 2010 from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Noah Cohen’s parents, Natalie and Jason Cohen, have raised about $60,000 to put towards the playground. The county is providing matching funds under Newtown’s Open Space bond allocation to help make the project a reality.

Newtown Township worked with the Cohen family to design the playground.

Township Director of Parks & Recreation Kathy Pawlenko said the playground will open in November.
