Pennsbury Manor Site Administrator To Speak In Newtown

Doug Miller will be discussing how William Penn became the largest land holder in England and went on to found the colony of Pennsylvania.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Doug Miller, the site administrator at Pennsbury Manor, William Penn's reconstructed country estate in Falls Township, will be the guest speaker at the Feb. 21 meeting of the Newtown Historic Association.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Half Moon Inn, 105 Court Street, Newtown.

Miller will be discussing how William Penn became the largest land holder in England in 1681. He will also explore how William Penn went on to found the colony of Pennsylvania.

Miller has more than 30 years of experience as a museum director having served as Director at Hope Lodge, Graeme Park, Washington Crossing and Curtin Village. He is an accreditation peer reviewer for the American Alliance of Museums and he serves as a volunteer consultant in AAM’s Museum Assessment Program.
