Pineville Tavern Celebrating National Ravioli Day With Freebies

Tuesday is National Ravioli day, and one local spot will be giving away freebies to celebrate the mouth-watering occasion, which also falls on the first day of spring.

On March 20, The Pineville Tavern will offer an array of tasty specials.

Dining room guests who order any ravioli dish will get a complimentary package of eight ravioli to take home. If you get take-out, the tavern will offer a buy one, get one deal on full-size servings of ravioli. (Some interesting dinner trivia: The word “ravioli” comes from an Old Italian word “riavvolgere,” which means “to wrap.”)

"Not only can patrons savor our delicious handmade ravioli dishes in the restaurant, but they’ll be able to enjoy them again later at home, on us," said owner Drew Abruzzese.

Ravioli has been one of the most popular and beloved menu items at The Pineville Tavern since the Abruzzese family took over the restaurant and introduced their recipe in 1989.

The Abruzzese family says their homemade recipe has been passed down for generations. The tavern still makes all their ravioli by hand, fresh every morning.

The Pineville Tavern is located at 1089 Durham Road, Pineville.
