“We have been meticulously watching the variations of weather patterns for the last several days in order to make an educated and thoughtful decision regarding the event. As those of you that have kept a close eye know, things keep changing, so we appreciate your patience for an event
update.

“We are concerned with wind reports in terms of community safety, our biggest focus,” they said. “We also have an incredible amount of respect for the local artists participating in the annual day and want to be respectful of their work.”

Although Market Day will not take place due to the inclement weather, the Newtown Historic Association’s Half-moon Inn will be welcoming guests from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We hope you will come out to join us in support of the NHA and Countryside Gardners who will be creating original floral designs made to order and available to grace your home. The ever popular and beautiful hydrangea bundles will be offered again this year.”

The association will also be featuring its Market Day raffle, with prizes to local restaurants as well as the work of local artist, Craig Hackett.

“We look forward to welcoming you to the Inn,” said organizers.
