The renowned chef is looking to retire and is seeking a new owner for his Sycamore Street restaurant and cooking school.

Renowned Chef Jean Pierre is seeking a new owner for his restaurant and cooking school located on Sycamore Street in Newtown.

The business, which was just listed for sale this week with Ahia Commercial Real Estate, is $190,000, according to marketing materials provided by Principal Chichi Ahia. The price is for the business only and does not include real estate. The lease would be signed over to the new business owner, Ahia explained.

The sale price does include fixtures, furniture and equipment.

"The well renowned restaurant is the most recent successful culinary operation which has grown to a place of prominence under the leadership of the highly-celebrated Chef Jean Pierre Tardy. Newtown, Pennsylvania. Newtown is a highly regarded, quaint town with many fine shops and locally owned establishments including high end spas, boutiques, specialty shops and restaurants," the listing says.

Ahia, in an interview with Patch, says the chef is looking to retire.

"He’s been in the kitchen for 40 years. Because it’s got such an incredible reputation, they’d love to see someone that can carry on the tradition that he’s built," Ahia said.

The business is described as "turn key" with an "excellent" reputation.

The chef and his wife, Joan Tardy, currently operate the business.

According to his bio, Chef Jean Pierre is one of only 250 chefs worldwide to hold the prestigious title of Maitre Cuisinere de France (French Master Chef), serving as recognition by the French government his culinary skills.
