Swamp Road Crash Was Fatal, Road Remains Closed

One person was killed in a crash that happened Monday morning on Swamp Road, Newtown Township Police have confirmed. The one-vehicle crash involved a dump truck. The dump truck driver died in the crash, which happened around 11 a.m. near Twining Bridge Road.

The road has been closed since the crash, and will remain so until about 8:30 p.m. so PECO can repair a pole, Newtown Township Police said.

Police are seeking witnesses to the crash. Anyone who saw it should submit an online tip here.

More details on the crash are expected Tuesday, police said.

"For the time being we are asking you to be patient with the road closure and please drive appropriately through the side neighborhoods where all the traffic from Swamp Road has been redirected," police said.
