LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA — 2018 will be the year of the pizza for Bucks County.
One of the region's most renowned pizzerias is preparing for its local debut. DeLorenzo's Tomato Pies, a Trenton institution, will open its first Pennsylvania restaurant in Lower Makefield in early 2018. It will be located at 1707 Langhorne Yardley Road.
Construction on the site is "moving along" the restaurant announced Tuesday, and shared the following pictures.

The renowned New Jersey-based pizza joint has been lauded as one of the best in the country.
DeLorenzo's Tomato Pies are celebrated throughout the region. The pizzeria first opened in Trenton in 1947. A location in Robbinsville opened in 2007.

A few years back, DeLorenzo's had considered Newtown for its Bucks County location. But in 2014, the restaurant abandoned its effort to open on Newtown-Yardley Road at the site of the former Newtown Veterinary Hospital. That site is now Margiotti and Kroll Pediatrics.
