Southern California-Style Barbershop Opens In Newtown: See Inside

NEWTOWN, PA — Fuse Barbershop is one of the newest businesses to open in the renovated Village at Newtown Shopping Center.

The barbershop, located in the portion of the shopping center near Nothing Bundt Cakes and School of Rock, offers haircuts, straight razor shaves, beard services, long layer cuts, color treatments, and more.

Owner Nick Tosti tells Patch the shop has an old-school-meets-new style inspired by the Southern California barbershop experience.

We caught up with Tosti to learn a bit more about his concept, and why he wanted to bring this style shop to Newtown.

Patch: How did you come up with the concept of what is now Fuze Barbershop?

Tosti: Barbering is in my DNA. I spent most of my childhood and teenage years in Camden and Philadelphia inside my parent’s or uncle’s barbershops. My oldest son Luke became a barber right here in town and after spending the last 30 years in the corporate world, I felt like it was time to change my career path. The Los Angeles barbershop scene inspired us to bring something awesome to Bucks County with a cool bar style counter, music themed interior and framed guitars on the walls. Everybody loves rock and roll and that’s what we decided to go with.

Patch: Why the Village at Newtown?

Tosti: We’re long time Newtown residents. Over 20 years. I raised my family here. The Village at Newtown shopping center is about to become the best area to relax, shop and eat in all of Bucks County. Our barbershop model fit exactly what they were looking for. It was a great fit for both of us.

Patch: How difficult was it finding barbers?

Tosti: Not so difficult. Our barbers have a tremendous skill set. They bought into our business model of great service, cool ambiance, and awesome haircuts and shaves. We have some of the best in the Business and they have been producing some incredible results. We’ve had clients range from 1 year old to 80 years old coming from Trenton, New Hope, Philadelphia….you name it. Word is getting out about how skilled our team is. We’re working hard and having fun. I couldn’t be happier with this group.

Patch: How’s it going after the first few weeks?

Tosti: Unbelievable. The shop is exceeding our initial projections. We can’t thank the people of Newtown and the surrounding area enough for all the support. At the end of the day, it’s about the results and we’re delivering.
