Teen Threatened To Come To Richboro Middle With AR-15: Police

A 17-year-old who said via Snapchat they had an AR-15 and planned to come to Richboro Middle School caused Monday's lockdown, police said.

A lockdown at a Council Rock school on Monday was prompted by a teenager who said via Snapchat they had an AR-15 assault rifle and planned to come to Richboro Middle School, Northampton Township Police said.

After a student notified the principal of the threat, the school was locked down and police went to the teen's home. During an interview with officers, the 17-year-old admitted to posting the threat but did not possess an AR-15 and did not actually plan on going to the school.

Authorities did not say where the teen lived but did say he or she is not a Richboro Middle School student.
