Teens At Skatepark After Hours Had Pot, Newtown Police Say
The teens fled the skatepark and were found by an officer behind a shed on Council Rock North property, police said.

A Newtown Township resident contacted police to report a theft from his car that was parked at the Newtown Athletic Club. The resident said he placed his wallet in his trunk when he parked his vehicle at the NAC but later, when he arrived at another location, he realized that his wallet was no longer there. Nothing else was reported missing and there was no forced entry.

While conducting a nightly patrol check of the Newtown Skate Park around 10:30 p,m,, police observed two cars parked in the lot after dark, when the park is closed. Police approached the vehicles, which were unoccupied. The officer saw a clear plastic bag containing suspected marijuana in plain sight in one of the cars. A third car arrived on scene as officers were investigating. The driver of that car told police they had seen three or four people fleeing the scene through the woods, heading towards Council Rock North High School. Police located three young men hiding behind a shed on the school property. The three young men were identified as the occupants of the vehicles parked at the skate park. The suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia that was discovered was confiscated, and the young men were advised that they would be issued disorderly conduct citations pending further investigation of the evidence. They were not identified.
