Threat Against BCCC Deemed Not Credible, Campus Reopens

The Newtown campus has reopened. Police tracked the source of the information and said it was "not credible."

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A threat that closed Bucks County Community College's main campus in Newtown on Wednesday has been deemed "not credible," Newtown Township Police said.

The threat "specifically targeted" Bucks County Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 26. No further details on the threat were released but after an investigation by detectives, the source of the information was identified. Police were then able to determine it was not credible.

The campus reopened Thursday.

"The actions taken yesterday were out of an abundance of caution and today we are confident that this incident does not put your safety in jeopardy," Newtown Township Police said.
