Washington Crossing Park to Host Free Lecture Series

A series of afternoon lectures at Washington Crossing Historic Park begins Sunday.

The following is an announcement from the Friends of Washington Crossing Park:

Author and historian Peter Osborne will discuss his new book, No Spot In This Far Land Is More Immortalized: A History of Pennsylvania’s Washington Crossing Historic Park, this Sunday at 1 p.m. This free presentation is the first in a series of afternoon lectures being held in the Washington Crossing Historic Park visitor center auditorium.

During the program, Osborne will discuss how it took years to bring Washington Crossing Historic Park to fruition as organizers proposed ideas, raised awareness, sought funding and then developed the park. The park marks the place where General George Washington and the Continental Army disembarked on their daring crossing of the Delaware River on Christmas night in 1776.
