Woman's Plot To Steal Cash Foiled By Newtown Bank Employees: Cops
A woman is facing charges after police said she was caught trying to fraudulently withdraw money from bank account with a fake license.

NEWTOWN, PA — A woman from New York is facing charges of forgery and identity theft after police said she was caught trying to fraudulently access a bank account with a counterfeit license last week in Newtown Township.
According to Newtown Township police, the incident happened around 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7. Police were called to Citizen's Bank on West Road for the report of a fraud in progress. The woman had a counterfeit drivers license and was attempting to access the victim's bank account to withdrawal money, the caller told police.
Bank employees successfully stalled the woman, later identified as Tiffany McCrimmon, 51, until officers arrived. McCrimmon was taken into custody without incident, police said.

During a subsequent interview, McCrimmon told detectives a male accomplice made a counterfeit drivers license with her picture and the victim's personal information. The accomplice, who has not been identified, drove her from New York to banks in Pennsylvania so she could fraudulently withdraw funds, police said.
McCrimmon was arraigned and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 bail. As of Dec. 10, she remained jailed, court records show.

She is charged with forgery (F2), identity theft (F3), theft by unlawful taking (F3) and possessing counterfeit access device (M2).
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 17.
