Wrightstown Restaurant Closing Its Doors At The End Of December
Owner of the Wycombe House announces plans for one final hurrah before shutting down operations.

WRIGHTSTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Wycombe House, barely open a year following a $1.5 million renovation project, is closing its doors at 1073 Mill Creek Road.
Owner Jerry Driscoll made the announcement in a "Farewell" Facebook posting and in an email blast to the restaurant's customers.
"It is with great sadness that we announce the closing," writes Driscoll. "We want to thank all of our wonderful guests and employees for supporting us over this past year. What began as a 142-seat restaurant on a sleepy stretch of Mill Creek Road grew into a place that has welcomed tens of thousands of guests and employed some truly wonderful and friendly people over the past year.

"We are extremely humbled that so many embraced our restaurant, the food and the charm and that we were able to last as long as we have," writes Driscoll.
The Warminster resident reopened the tavern under the name The Wycombe House in October 2022 following a $1.5 million renovation project that brought stylish fun and good food to the historic watering hole.

The past year, however, has been a financial challenge, not only for the Wycombe House but for restaurants in general, Driscoll told his long time patrons and supporters.
"Inflation caused our food expense to increase over 35 percent. Interest rates quadrupled our mortgage expenses. The PLCB raised liquor prices an average of 27 percent, and in part, due to the economy in general, people spent less time going out to eat," said Driscoll.
The Wycombe House will close its doors permanently on Dec. 31, 2023 at 6 p.m., according to Driscoll.
"Before we do though, we would like to invite all of our family, friends, and guests to one last hurrah. Beginning this Friday, Dec. 29, we will be discounting all menu items by 40 percent and offering discounted drink specials as well. Come in one more time and share this time with us, enjoy the food, the friendship and a historic and bucolic Bucks County setting," said Driscoll.
"As always, 'You ain’t gonna get any nouveau, amandine, thin crust, bottled water, sauteed city food here. The food is still brown, hot and there’s plenty of it," writes Driscoll in his farewell.
