The incident occurred back on March 2, 2023.

Johnson, Reed, and the victim, 25-year-old Daquan Tucker, of Audubon, all knew each other

The trio left the Norristown home of Reed, who was already on probation for robbery charges, at around 7 p.m. that night Schuylkill River Trail. A criminal complaint stated that Tucker's friends believed he was going there to smoke.

Investigators eventually pieced together a loose timeline of events in what they believed to be a robbery gone wrong. At some point during the interaction, the pair shot Tucker multiple times on the Schuylkill River trail, police said.

His body was found by a cyclist at 9 a.m. the next morning about 100 feet down an embankment between the trail and the Schuylkill River, near the border of West Norriton and Norristown.

Johnson and Reed fled and were the subject of a lengthy manhunt before they were captured following a standoff in Atlantic City about a month later.

A sentencing date has not yet been announced.
