2nd Man Charged In 2019 Norristown Home Invasion Killing
He was one of two masked men that police said entered a Norristown home last year and killed a resident.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- A second man has been arrested in a 2019 home invasion killing in Norristown.
Rashaan Stevenson, 34, of Reading, was charged with first degree murder in the killing of Alonzo J. Anthony, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced Friday.
The incident occurred at around 10:53 p.m. on April 2, 2019.

Stevenson and another man who was arrested last year, Brandon M. Thompson, left Stevenson's home in Reading that night and drove to Anthony's home on the 300 block of Fornance Street, the DA said.
Just hours before arriving at Anthony's home, an inmate at SCI Phoenix in Montgomery County called Stevenson, police said. During that call, which was recorded by authorities, Stevenson told the inmate he was "ready to handle something."

Sources later told police that Anthony was selling Percocet pills and marijuana from his home, and that he'd previously sold to Thompson, according to a criminal complaint.
As the pair entered, Stevenson fired several shots that killed Anthony, according to the DA. Stevenson and Thompson then stole marijuana, cash, and a cellphone before fleeing the scene.
Just days after the shooting, Thompson went to a vigil held in Anthony's honor, according to an affidavit of probable cause. Thompson was eventually arrested in Sept. 2019 and charged with second degree murder. Surveillance footage showed a second man fleeing the area of Anthony's home after the crime, which police said they ultimately determined was Stevenson. Stevenson was connected to Thompson through an analysis of Thompson's phone records, according to a criminal complaint.
Both men had prior criminal records. Stevenson was on parole for third degree murder in connection to a 2006 incident. Thompson, who previously worked on a cleaning crew at Ursinsus College, was arrested and charged earlier in the summer of 2019 for stealing paychecks from a dormitory, police said.
Stevenson was booked at Montgomery County Correctional Facility, where Thompson is held. No bail is available for either due to the first and second degree murder charges.
A preliminary hearing for Stevenson is set for Nov. 4.
