After Mass Shootings, Norristown Police Issue Instructive Article
Local police want to make sure the public knows what to do in an active shooter situation.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Local police want to make sure the public knows what to do in an active shooter situation.
The missive from the Norristown Police Department comes in the wake of two more mass shootings recently around the country, at the Walmart in El Paso, Texas and a nightclub in Dayton, Ohio.
"As these two attacks demonstrate, an active shooter event is highly unpredictable and can occur anywhere at any time," police said in a statement. "You must have a survivor mentality. The Norristown Police Department has created an instructive article on how to act in an active shooter situation. We have created this because we are genuinely committed to the safety of you and your family. "
