Bill Cosby Trial: Jury Sent Home Monday Night, Deliberations To Continue Tuesday

The jury deliberated through dinner on Monday night, but they were sent home before coming to a decision.

NORRISTOWN, PA — The jury in the Bill Cosby trial deliberated through dinner on Monday night, but they were sent home before coming to a decision, multiple media outlets have reported.

NBC10 said that deliberations began in the late afternoon after closing arguments from the defense and the prosecution were delivered.

All told, the jurors spent around 13 hours in the courtroom on Monday, as the defense rested its case in the morning after only calling one witness: a Cheltenhem detective who had led the investigation into Cosby in 2005.

Cosby has been charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault in connection to incidents with Andrea Constand, a former Temple University employee and acquaintance of Cosby's.

During their deliberations Monday, jurors twice asked the court for more information. 6ABC reports that on the first of these occasions, they asked for context regarding some of the testimony from 2005 that had been given by Cosby during the civil suit pressed by Constand. It was this now infamous testimony which prosecutors read aloud during the trial last week.

Jurors made a second request before the end of the night, at around 9:30 p.m., the details of which are not yet clear.
