Code Blue Declared In Montgomery County Ahead Of Nor'easter
The nor'easter will bring some dangerously frigid wind chills to Montgomery County.

NORRISTOWN, PA — The nor'easter will bring some dangerously frigid wind chills to Montgomery County, leading a Code Blue Cold Weather Declaration to be declared by the Montgomery County Health Department.
The Code Blue will be in effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 8 a.m. Thursday.
More than a foot of snow is possible across Montgomery County, with some areas possibly receiving as much as 18 inches. The storm marks the fourth significant nor'easter in a month, and widespread power outages are possible.

Code Blue is reserved for when the wind chill is expected to dip below 20 degrees and conditions "pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter."
As a reminder, residents of Montgomery County who need shelter during a Code Blue can go to the Coordinated Homeless Outreach Center (CHOC) in Building 53 at the Norristown State Hospital grounds. If needed, transportation will be provided. The CHOC is a 50-bed shelter for single residents. The phone number for the CHOC is 610-292-9244. Families are sheltered at the Salvation Army in Norristown or Pottstown.
