East Norriton Launches Solar Charging Stations In Parks

It's part of a wide-ranging sustainability effort underway in the township.

EAST NORRITON, PA — Solar panels have been installed around East Norriton's parks for visitors to charge personal electronics outdoors, the latest step in a wide-ranging sustainability effort underway across the township.

The Sunbolt Sprint stand-up stations are long-endurance stations that can charge smartphones, tablets, and other hand-held devices. They include tabletops for user convenience.

“The solar standup charging stations were a natural next step in the Township’s continually evolving renewable energy program," Township Manager Robert Hart said.

Two stations are located at Stanbridge Street Park now, and stations will be added to Old Arch Road and Heroes parks in the near future.
