NORRISTOWN BEFORE ITS INCORPORATION

The Historical Society of Montgomery County in conjunction with the Norristown Bi-centennial  Presents: NORRISTOWN BEFORE ITS INCORPORATION, April 15, 2012, 2:30 p.m. at The Historical Society of Montgomery County, 1654 DeKalb Street, Norristown, PA 

On March 31, 2012, Norristown will celebrate the Bicentennial of its incorporation, but Norristown existed as a settlement long before 1812. Dr. Bill Ward will give an illustrated talk on Norristown pre-corporate life, discussing the people who populated what’s now the Montgomery County Seat.Dr. Ward, although not a native of Norristown, has resided there for many years, served several terms as President of the Norristown Preservation Society, and has had a longstanding interest in local history.
