Fatal Motorcycle Accident at DeKalb and Elm

and emergency responders descended on DeKalb Street near Elm shortly before noon today for a report of an accident with a possible DOA. One man, who has yet to be identified, is confirmed dead.

According to witnesses at the scene, the man was traveling north on DeKalb Street at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a pole in front of 1009 DeKalb. Police have cordoned off DeKalb Street between Jacoby and Spruce streets to investigate the scene.

The victim's body remains in the street, covered, while police, fire and EMS workers await county detectives to arrive. Norristown police have yet to release a statement about the accident.

Station 27 is reportedly en route to wash down the scene.
