Fire Damages Norristown Home Monday

A heavy fire damaged a rowhome in Norristown Monday evening.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A heavy fire damaged a rowhome in Norristown Monday evening.

The incident occurred at around 6:14 p.m. at a residence on the 500 block of Noble Street.

The Norristown Fire Department said that it was a kitchen fire, with flames coming out of the rear of the residence and smoke billowing out the front door and windows.

Firefighters used ladders to access the second floor and were able to beat back the flames, which appeared to leave significant damage. The fire was out within 15 minutes.

All residents were able to make it out safe, and no injuries were reported.

The Red Cross is assisting the family with shelter.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities said, but it does not appear to be suspicious.
